WAKEBOARDING FUN - that is our play time!

This is a NEW water sport called Equi-Tubing, it is tubing from a equine (horse) power! Cheryl created this brilliant sport and she brought the tube from her California Skiier shop, and TDR Rana Ultima Nata (Ultima) and TDR Rana Akina (CJ) provided the horsepower. We had a lot of fun, but this is not recommended for those riders who don't like to get wet (Xena got SOAKED) or horses who don't really love the water! Photos taken 5-09

In the photos below TDR Rana Akina (CJ) swam out to the middle of the lake pulling the tube, tube rider, and me with her. She is an exceptional swimmer and she had a lot of swim conditioning before she did this. She is one serious athlete with an incredible disposition and a passion for water sports!

Then CJ's younger sister, TDR Rana Ultima Nata (Ultima), took a turn as Ultima didn't want her older sister CJ to have all the fun. Ultima took our tube rider for a little bit of a faster, more intense ride.

In 2007 a wonderful friend named Cheryl introduced us to Mastercraft boats and the fun you can have with them on a lake. Wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and single skiing, became a near weekly ritual for us. This "day off" allowed us to recharge ourselves, and it gave us a renewed energy and focus on our horse duties! For us, there are no other boats that exist - Cheryl spoiled us. If you have any interest in a boat or water fun, you must thoroughly check out their boats. We owe our water passion to Cheryl who also loves to get dirty with us on horseback and she is a great trail riding companion for me.

Anaiah wants to wakesurf, so Cheryl tried to help her this way....

....and she even tried this way.... but to no avail. Anaiah will just have to get big enough and balanced enough to wakesurf on her own.

Tynan, like Anaiah love trying to wakesurf, but like Anaiah they end up just going for a swim. One day they'll get it. Poor Cheryl spends so much time feeding them off the swim step giving them the best chance at staying on. It never quite happens!

Me up on a wakeboard more than a year before they thought I should even attempt it. For many months they told me I'd never wakeboard again, actually they told me they didn't think I would WALK again, never mind wakeboard, but as I worked hard and healed...they thought maybe, just maybe in 2009.... NAAAAAA...let's try now!! I will have to say though, I am very cautious and careful and I wear a special brace; the joy of the water however, is definitely still there!

Xena wakesurfing..look no hands on the rope! Yay I am not "wake towing" I am wakesurfing! I am actually on a better board now than in these photos; we nicknamed it the banana slider. We will have to get photos of that on here one day. It is a great fun board...but it has a mind of its own!!!!

Now this is CHERYL!!!!

She is an awesome wakeboarder, wakesurfer, and single skier. As a matter of fact I am not sure there isn't anything on the water that she can't do! You'll get to see how it's really supposed to be done.
